Made in India: Xiaomi partners with Dixon to make phones in India

Although Xiaomi’s phones and TVs have been manufactured in the company’s plant in India for a long time, but the company is now partnering with an Indian manufacturer to manufacture its gadgets in India. Only last week, Xiaomi has partnered with optiemus for its audio product. Under this partnership, all of Xiaomi’s wireless audio products will be produced in India.


At the same time, the company has partnered with Dixon Technology for smartphone production. Under this partnership, Xiaomi’s phones will be manufactured by Dixon in India and the phones manufactured by it will be exported to other countries. After this news came out, Dixon’s stock has seen an increase of 4 percent.


Many companies including Apple and Xiaomi are investing in India for production. India is going to become a new manufacturing hub after differences of many companies with China.


Earlier in March, Xiaomi India President Muralikrishnan B told Reuters that the company would open more stores in addition to its 20,000 retail stores. Apart from this, it will also promote local procurement for mobile parts.


By the way, Xiaomi India manufactures most of its smartphones and TVs. As an audio product, Xiaomi sells speakers, earbuds, earphones etc. in India. Only last week, a report came in which claimed that the demand for Xiaomi’s smartphones has been low in the last quarter, due to which the company’s revenue has decreased by 18.9 percent.
