TCS fired 4 in 100 crore scandal: taking bribe instead of giving jobs, company gave jobs to 3 lakh people in 3 years.

India’s largest IT services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has removed 4 of its officers from the company in connection with taking bribe. According to media reports, these officers used to take commission from staffing firms instead of providing jobs.

This was going on in the company for the last several years. After the matter came to light, TCS took immediate action and removed four senior executives from the Resource Management Group (RMG). Global head ES Chakraborty has also been sent on leave. The company has blacklisted three staffing firms. The names of these staffing firms and the fired officers are yet to be revealed.

How did TCS come to know about this scam?

The whole matter came to light after a whistleblower wrote a letter to the company’s CEO and COO claiming that RMG’s Global Head ES Chakraborty takes kickbacks from staffing firms in exchange for providing jobs. TCS then formed a three-member committee to investigate the allegations. Chief Information Security Officer Ajit Menon was also involved in this.

Those involved in the scam earned Rs 100 crore

An executive related to the matter said that in the last 3 years the company has hired 3 lakh people including contractors. It is also estimated that those involved in the scam have earned at least Rs 100 crore by way of commission.
