AI Replacing jobs: ‘Talks of losing jobs due to AI’, Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said this.
Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has termed as complete nonsense that artificial intelligence (AI) is causing job loss in India. The Minister of State for Electronics, Information and Technology says that the truth is that AI focuses on a specific task and by imitating human behavior makes it possible to do a task more efficiently.
He said, sorry but this is my opinion about it. The whole year in 1999 was spent hearing how Y2K (year 2000) would turn the world upside down. Then again, I hear AI will take our jobs. It is obvious that there are some people who find fault with any new change. AI is not going to take away any jobs. This is all utter nonsense.
Union Minister Chandrasekhar was talking to reporters after inaugurating the fully automated state-of-the-art Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility Laboratory at the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER) in Chennai. The government is working on a dataset program, in which anonymized data from the government will be made available to Indian artificial intelligence researchers and start-ups. This is the data set which will be offered on a selective basis and which has been prepared by the Ministry of Design for five works.
Robot said – will not take away the job
9 humanoids (human-like robots) attended the United Nations’ AI for Good conference. These robots said that they are not a threat to humans, but their helpers and servants. Robots, he said, would neither take away the jobs of humans, nor revolt against humanity, but they would become their helpers in the work of humans. However, when asked about his acceptance of the stricter rules, his response was mixed. Dressed as a nurse, the robot named Grace said, “My job is to help humans save humans from the outbreak of epidemics and diseases in the world.” Grace said, I do not think that I am a threat to any human’s job or will take away human’s job in the future.
