E-two-wheeler: Action will be taken against companies that do not comply with FAME-2 rules, they will be fined

The government is preparing to take action against electric two-wheeler (e-two-wheeler) vehicle companies that do not comply with the rules of the FAME-2 scheme. Legal options are being explored against them.

The Center has returned Rs 469 crore from seven e-two-wheeler companies that claimed incentives for not complying with the norms of the Scheme for Rapid Adoption and Manufacturing of E-Vehicles (FAME-2), a senior government official said. Have been asked to do. These companies include Hero Electric, Okinawa Autotech, Ampere EV, Revolt Motors, Benling India, Emo Mobility and Lohia Auto. The official said, notices have been sent to the companies to return the incentive amount. But, only Revolt Motors has offered payment. The last date for returning the amount has passed and next week the government will take some decisions in this regard.

Investigation was done after receiving anonymous email

The Heavy Industries Ministry had conducted an investigation after receiving anonymous emails. The email alleged that many companies were taking subsidies without following the rules of the phased manufacturing scheme to increase domestic manufacturing of e-vehicles. After investigating the matter, the ministry delayed giving the subsidy in the last financial year.
