Amazon’s promise to India! Will invest Rs 1.40 lakh crore to increase digital economy, thousands of businessmen will benefit
New Delhi. E-commerce company Amazon has signed new agreements to further strengthen its business relations with India. At the Amazon Sambhav Summit held in Delhi, the company’s Senior Vice President (India and Emerging Markets) Amit Aggarwal said that many initiatives are being worked on to promote India’s digital economy and exports. The company has committed to invest Rs 1.40 lakh crore in India by the year 2030. Amazon has taken all these steps after the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra
Modi and company CEO Andy Jassy in June.
Amazon Sambhav Summit is organized every year to discuss with industry leaders and policy makers on enhancing India’s digital growth. At the summit, Amit Aggarwal said that on behalf of the company, we are excited about India’s growth and its growing market opportunities in the long term. The Indian market will provide millions of consumers and sellers an opportunity to grow in the times to come. Amit said that by the year 2030, we will invest 15 billion dollars (about Rs 1.40 lakh crore) in all our businesses in India and will play a big role in India’s growth story in the 21st century.
The company signed many big agreements
Amazon has signed an agreement (MoU) with India Post to provide cross-border logistics for exports to small and medium entrepreneurs. Not only this, Amazon is the first e-commerce company in the country to have tied up with the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFC) of the Indian Railways, so that the orders of the sellers can be delivered to the consumers as quickly as possible.
Amazon co-AI is amazing for businessmen
Amazon has taken another big initiative. The company has used Amazon Co-AI, the first AI-based personal digital assistant of its kind, which will prove to be very useful for businessmen. This will provide more opportunities to small businessmen and help them manage their inventory and orders through Direct to Consumer (D2C) brands.
Access to every pin code of the country
Amazon and India Post have also released a postal stamp named Sambhav 23 to commemorate their decade-old partnership. This stamp has been issued to celebrate achieving the capability to deliver goods to 100% pin codes of the country. Also, this stamp shows a glimpse of all the transport methods which have been used to deliver goods to every corner of the country.
