AMD: World’s largest chip design center being built in India, three thousand engineers will get jobs
America’s leading chip manufacturing company AMD is building the world’s largest chip design center in India. On Thursday, Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav tweeted that the company’s TechnoStar Center in Bangalore is now taking shape.
Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrashekhar said that this center of AMD will provide employment opportunities to three thousand semiconductor engineers and researchers of India. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is headquartered in California.
AMD Executive Vice President Mark Papermaster had announced at the Semicon India Summit in Gujarat that the company is going to build its largest research and development center in Bangalore, for which the company will invest about Rs 3,200 crore in the coming five years, which will About 3,000 people will get direct employment. The company started its first site in New Delhi. Now it is building a 50,000 square feet campus in Bangalore.
