First electric-air taxi in India by 2026: InterGlobe Enterprises partners with Archer Aviation
The first electric-air taxi may run in India by 2026. For this, InterGlobe Enterprises, the company that operates the country’s largest airline Indigo, has partnered with America’s ‘Archer Aviation’.
After signing the memorandum, both the companies issued a statement saying, ‘The operation of the electric air taxi will be dependent on regulatory approval and clearance. Our aim is to provide a revolutionary transportation solution for the country.
90 minutes journey in 7 minutes
Air taxi services will be provided through Archer’s Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) Midnight aircraft. The company said the 27 km journey from Connaught Place to Gurugram will take about 60 to 90 minutes by road. it takes time. The electric-air taxi will cover this distance in 7 minutes.

Plan to raise funds to buy 200 aircraft
Plans have also been made to raise funds for the purchase of 200 of Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) Midnight aircraft. Apart from urban air taxi service, it is also planning to use electric-aircraft for logistics, medical, emergency and charter services.
