The company plans to invest Rs 6000 crore in renewable power projects. With this the company will have the capacity of about 1000 MW green power. This investment will be in the field of solar and wind energy.
Ambuja Cement disclosed the plan in a regulatory filing on Monday. Ambuja Cement’s plan to enter green energy will create a diverse portfolio. There will be solar power and wind power in this portfolio. These plants will be in Gujarat and Rajasthan. 600 MW solar project and 150 MW wind power project will be built in Gujarat. Similarly, a 250 MW solar power project will be built in Rajasthan. It is expected that this scheme will come on the ground by the year 2026. It is noteworthy that good winds blow in the coastal areas of Gujarat. It is always sunny in Rajasthan.
