Swiggy starts food delivery service on water: Delivery partners will deliver food from Shikara to houseboats on Dal Lake, Srinagar.

Swiggy has now started its food delivery services on water also. The company has started it from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Swiggy said that the company has expanded its services to deliver food to houseboats on Srinagar’s iconic Dal Lake. The company’s delivery partners will use the city’s famous Shikara boats to reach these floating houseboats.

Swiggy partners with Shikara operators for delivery

Swiggy said the company has partnered with Shikara operators to ensure delivery at tourist attractions. According to a press release from the company, these operators are also compensated for extended delivery times.

Started operation in Srinagar in 2022, added more than 300 restaurants

Siddharth Bhaku, National Head of Business, Swiggy Food, said, “’Swiggy Houseboat Delivery’ is a testament to the company’s mission to deliver services regardless of the consumer’s location. Swiggy started operations in Srinagar in 2022. More than 300 restaurants of Srinagar are included on the company’s platform.

Swiggy partners with IRCTC to deliver food to people in trains

Swiggy is also working with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to deliver food to people on trains in four cities – Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. The company is planning to bring this service to more than 59 railway stations in the next six months, which will provide more food options to the travelers.
