Maruti increased the production capacity of Manesar plant: Now the company will produce 9 lakh vehicles there every year, earlier it used to be 8 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited started another vehicle assembly line at its Manesar plant. This assembly line has been added to the existing Plant-A of 3 manufacturing plants in Manesar.
The company said that the new vehicle assembly line has the capacity to produce 1 lakh units every year. After this, the total manufacturing capacity of Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant has increased to 9 lakh vehicles every year. The company has also shared the picture of the first Ertiga produced on the e-vehicle assembly line in its stock exchange filing.
Maruti Suzuki wants to produce 4 million vehicles every year in the next 7-8 years
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, ‘Maruti Suzuki is committed to the Government of India’s vision of ‘Make in India’. We aim to almost double our capacity to 4 million vehicles per year in the next 7-8 years.
Increasing this capacity to one lakh vehicles per year is a step towards this goal. This will help us provide faster service to our customers and increase our manufacturing capacity to 23.5 lakh units every year.
Maruti sold maximum 16 lakh cars in FY24
In the financial year 2024, Maruti Suzuki has sold the maximum 16 lakh 5 thousand 264 vehicles. In the last financial year 2023, the company had sold 14 lakh 90 thousand 202 vehicles. Whereas, in the month of March, Maruti Suzuki has sold 1 lakh 26 thousand 774 cars.
Whereas, in the same month last year, the company sold 1 lakh 39 thousand 066 vehicles. Federation of Automobile Association i.e. FADA has given this information in its report yesterday.
