Big announcement from Stellantis, the company that makes vehicles like Citreon-Jeep, will make India an EV export hub.
Stellantis, a leading global company manufacturing vehicles under Citreon, Jeep, Opel and FIAT brands, has announced to make India its electric vehicle (EV) export hub. A senior executive of Stellantis said that the company has initially targeted the South-Asian markets.
Started export
Stellantis India has also started export of electric cars. According to the information given by the company, it started exporting its ‘Made in India’ ‘E-C3’ electric car with the export of 500 units to Indonesia.
Stellantis India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Aditya Jayaraj told PTI that we will be the first multinational OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in India to achieve this feat (exporting EVs). We also have plans for some other markets like Nepal and Bhutan. This is just the beginning. The plan is to take it forward from there. Emphasizing the importance of starting the export of e-C3, he said that we are committed to the ‘Make in India’ solution of the government. We are focusing on this as a very important aspect for Stellantis as a company.
