G20: IMF praised the G20 conference chaired by India, World Bank also praised it.
The annual spring meeting of the IMF and the World Bank is going on in America. India’s Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth is also on a visit to America to attend this meeting. Ajay Seth said that during this meeting, IMF and World Bank praised the G20 conference held under the chairmanship of India. It was said in the meeting that the way consensus was achieved on global issues during the G20 conference chaired by India is praiseworthy.

The G20 conference meeting was held in India on 9-10 September. A 37-page consensus manifesto was passed in this conference, in which consensus steps were taken on many issues of the global economy, including the Russia-Ukraine war. In the G20 conference chaired by India, the way meetings were organized on various issues while ensuring everyone’s participation was also praised. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman did not attend this year’s G20 spring meeting due to the Lok Sabha elections. The Indian delegation includes top officials such as Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth and Reserve Bank of India chief Shaktikanta Das.
Emerging economies including India received appreciation
Seth said that in the annual meeting of IMF and World Bank, it was also appreciated that amidst the global circumstances, financial stability is maintained in emerging economies including India due to monetary policies and responsible fiscal policies. He said the meeting also discussed how financing should be done to tackle climate change. Now G20 meetings are being held under the chairmanship of Brazil. On April 17-18, a meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors was held. During the meetings, Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth held bilateral meetings with counterparts from the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Brazil and South Africa.
