There is good news from the country and the world’s leading IT company Infosys. The company has said that it will recruit up to 20,000 fresh graduates in financial year 2025. This announcement gives hope to recent and upcoming college graduates after a decline in IT job offers. According to Money Control news, earlier the company had appointed 11,900 freshers in FY 2024, which is 76 percent less than the more than 50,000 freshers appointed in FY 23.

Staff utilization is at 85%

According to the news, Infosys Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jayesh Sangharajka said on the occasion of releasing the company’s results on Thursday that in the last several quarters, we have grown on the basis of tight recruitment. We hire freshers from inside and outside the campus. There was a net decline of 2000 people in this quarter. This was lower than previous quarters. Our utilization is already at 85 percent, so we have very little scope left now. As we see developments, we will consider recruitment.

Situation of recruitment in IT companies

The CFO said that we are planning to hire 15,000-20,000 freshers this year. Although this will depend on how we look at the development. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will hire around 40,000 freshers in FY2025. Of these, it has appointed about 11,000 trainees in the first quarter.

As of the first quarter, Infosys’ employee count declined by 1,908 for the sixth consecutive quarter. In comparison, companies like TCS added 5,452 employees on a net basis. HCL Tech’s employee headcount declined sequentially by 8,080 in Q1FY25.
