Godrej Consumer spent Rs 1000 crore on advertising
Advertisement investment of FMCG company Godrej Consumer in the domestic market increased by 47 percent to Rs 1,011 crore in FY 2024. However, the company has reduced the stock keeping units (SKU) by about 30 percent through the rationalization process. Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) Managing Director and CEO Sudhir Sitapati said, “In line with our category development strategy, we have made significant investments in advertising. We moved from 17th in 2021 to the fifth largest advertiser in India in 2023. We are expanding this further by investing in distribution.
“In India, we are now spending more than Rs 1,000 crore on advertising, whereas a few years ago it was Rs 350-400 crore,” he said on GCPL’s ‘Advertising and Promotion’ for the financial year ending March 2024. The expenditure was Rs 1,011 crore. This was 47 percent more than Rs 687.34 crore a year ago. The company has popular brands like Cinthol, Godrej No.1, Hits and Good Night.
