Boeing: Boeing has partnered with AIESL for the maintenance of Indian Navy’s P-8I aircraft, this benefit will be available
US aerospace giant Boeing has partnered with India’s AI Engineering Services Ltd to provide overhaul services to the Indian Navy’s fleet of 12 P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft.
“As part of the partnership, the first landing gear overhaul of the P-8I aircraft was recently completed at the naval base INS Rajali in Tamil Nadu,” Boeing India said on Tuesday.
“This is the first time such work is being performed in India for aircraft maintenance. It demonstrates India’s growing indigenous capabilities for complex maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services,” Boeing said in a statement.
The Boeing P-8I is a multi-role long-range maritime reconnaissance anti-submarine warfare (LRMR ASW) aircraft.
Salil Gupte, President, Boeing India and South Asia, said, “Through this partnership with AIESL (AI Engineering Services Limited), we continue to strategically invest in India’s MRO capabilities. These services will help enhance mission readiness rates for the Indian Navy.”
Sharad Agarwal, CEO, AI Engineering Services Limited, said, “We are proud to partner with Boeing and successfully complete the landing gear overhaul of the P-8I aircraft for the first time in India. This is an important step towards India’s aspirations to become a regional hub for MRO services.”
