After two years of campus recruitment, Infosys has given joining date to 2000 people. The IT sector giant has issued offer letters to all its 2,000 campus recruits. More than 1,000 recruits got their joining date on 1 September and 300 got their joining date on 2 September. The remaining recruits were given their joining date in June 2024. According to the news of Financial Express, the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has given this information.

Was offered a role in Infosys in 2022

According to NITES, all the remaining recruits on campus, around 2,000 system engineers, have finally received their joining date, which has been confirmed on October 21. These engineers were initially offered roles at Infosys in 2022 and were to complete two pre-training sessions in 2024. The latest session ended on 19th August. The Infosys recruitment team informed the recruiters via email that the virtual pre-training session comprised of self-learning modules provided by the company, followed by in-person assessments in various cities.

More than 200 recruitments still waiting

The recruitment team said that if candidates pass the competency assessment, they will be invited to join Infosys for an in-person intensive training programme. Failing the assessment will delay your joining date. More than 200 recruits are still waiting for their joining dates for Digital Specialist Engineer posts in 2023. The salary for System Engineer is Rs 3.6 lakh per annum, while for the post of Digital Specialist Engineer it is Rs 6.5 lakh per annum.

NITES had filed the request

According to the news, NITES has said that those recently recruited on the campus who have received offers have gone through pre-training and assessment.  In June 2024, NITES, a Pune-based union for IT professionals, filed a request with the Ministry of Labor and Employment to investigate the company’s repeated delays in over 2,000 campus recruitments. NITES claimed that the delay of two years has caused immense hardship to the affected employees. Infosys announced after its June quarter earnings that the company plans to hire 15,000 to 20,000 freshers in FY 2025. Earlier, 11,900 freshers were appointed in FY 2024, which is significantly less than the previous year, whereas more than 50,000 freshers were appointed last year.
