New portal launched for businessmen, will help in getting the payment stuck abroad
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has launched a new Trade Connect e-platform, which will provide necessary information to exporters to increase exports. This e-platform will also serve as a single touchpoint for exporters.
The objective of this platform is to provide business solutions in coordination with the Indian Mission in places where importers have defaulted in payments to Indian exporters. In this way, this platform will help the exporters in getting the payment of their pending payments. The Department of Commerce of the Central Government has already consulted 133 Indian missions around the world for this.
Explaining the main benefits of the portal, Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Santosh Sarangi said that through this platform, exporters wishing to export can get the necessary information about the markets with better potential and the rules and procedures required to export there. Will be able to. They will also be able to know about the benefits available to exports under India’s existing Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with many countries.
Information regarding the rules from issuance of certificate to transfer will also be provided on the platform. The aim of the government behind all this is to ensure that the exported products do not come under the ambit of violation of any kind of local laws abroad.
Apart from providing information on banking, insurance services and availability of export credit before and after shipment, the portal will also inform exporters about important events and exhibitions. With the help of these useful information related to exports, Indian exporters will be able to increase their business prospects abroad.
After coordinating with several central ministries and departments, including the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal compared the portal to “ChatGPT for Indian exporters” as it will collate all necessary information useful for exporters and make it available on a single platform.
Describing this as an effort to facilitate trade and business for small entrepreneurs, he said that the dream of crossing the level of Rs 2 trillion in exports cannot be achieved unless small entrepreneurs are encouraged to export more and more. Will be done.
