30,000 ton anode plant
Handa said, “In such a situation, we are thinking of a 30,000 tonne anode plant in India by the fourth quarter of 2026, which will entail an investment of about Rs 4,000 crore. The capacity of this plant will be increased to 90,000 tonnes by 2031. Thus, the total capital expenditure for our annual business in the next eight years is Rs 9,000 crore. With the increasing demand for electric vehicles in India, there is a need for Indian cell manufacturing companies to set up battery plants in the country.
