TCS joins hands with McDonald’s, company’s shares jump early in the morning
Tata Consultancy Services, the country’s largest IT company, has signed a two-year contract with the master franchise holder of McDonald’s in the Philippines. However, the financial details of this deal were not disclosed. The partnership with Philippines’ George Yang-led Golden Arches Development Corporation (GADC) is TCS’s first partnership in the fast-food industry in the Asia Pacific region. TCS gave this information in a regulatory filing on Wednesday. In early trade, the company’s shares are trading at Rs 4402 with a rise of 1.27% on BSE.
TCS said that under the terms of the deal it will digitize IT operations at more than 760 McDonald’s restaurants in the Philippines. This will include upgrading existing systems at GADC and shifting to the cloud. Margot Torres, MD, GADC, said this partnership with TCS is another step towards our continued digital transition. This will improve our operations and enable us to continuously improve the experience of customers and employees.

TCS says that the upgrade process will increase the company’s efficiency, improve operating costs, promote digital transition and innovation, and improve the franchisee experience. This will benefit the stakeholders and improve the functioning. TCS will also future-proof GADC’s processes to support their growth plans. TCS has been operating in the Philippines since 2008. It currently has more than 5,000 employees working in sectors such as telecommunications, banking and finance, real estate and airlines.
