Zomato CEO launches a unique job offer, deposit Rs 20 lakh and work for 1 year for free

Deepinder Goyal, CEO of online delivery platform Zomato, has come up with a unique job offer. In this, the selected person will have to deposit Rs 20 lakh in the first year. Goyal has asked potential candidates for the post of ‘Chief of Staff’ to pay Rs 20 lakh for the first year. Goyal said on Wednesday that this amount will be donated to the non-profit organization Feeding India. In return, the company will offer to contribute Rs 50 lakh to a charity of the candidate’s choice. Goyal wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “Looking for a ‘Chief of Staff’, whose position description is as follows – “Who can do everything to build the future of Zomato (including Blinkit, District, Hyperpure and Feeding India).”

20 lakhs will have to be deposited in the first year

He claimed that this role will offer 10 times more learning opportunity than a two-year degree from a top management school. He said, “It will provide an opportunity to work with me and some of the most thoughtful people in consumer technology. However, this role is not a traditional role, which includes the usual perks that come with such jobs.” On the salary details, Goyal wrote, “There will be no salary for this position in the first year. Rather you will have to pay Rs 20 lakh for this opportunity. 100 percent of this ‘fee’ will be donated directly to Feeding India (if you are offered this position and you accept it).”

Salary will be given from the second year

He said, “We want to make it clear from our side that we are not trying to save money here. We will contribute Rs 50 lakh (equal to the salary of the Chief of Staff) to a charity of your choice.” Goyal said that from the second year we will start giving you a normal salary (more than Rs 50 lakh of course), but we will talk about it at the beginning of the second year. Goyal told the candidates to apply for this post only because it will give them an opportunity to learn, not for any attractive, well-paid job that will make you look good in front of yourself or the people you want to impress. “

No need for much experience

He said that in other words, “Look at it as a learning program that has both personal and professional development. Whether you are successful in this role or not. We want learners for this role, not ‘biodata’ makers. Goyal said that for this post, a person is needed who has a desire to learn something, common sense, empathy and does not need much experience. So that there is no burden of anything on him. He said that he is looking for a person who is connected to the ground. Wants to do the right thing, even if it means annoying others and most importantly, he has a desire to learn.
