Adani Wilmar started a food processing plant worth Rs 1300 crore in Sonipat, thousands of people will get jobs

Edible oil company Adani Wilmar Limited has started operating its food processing plant in Sonipat, Haryana. The company has set it up with an investment of about Rs 1,300 crore. Adani Wilmar said in a stock exchange notice that it has started operations at its integrated food processing plant in Gohana, Sonipat. The company said, “This food complex is one of the largest complexes in the country, built with capital of Rs 1,298 crore raised from IPO (initial public offering).” The plant will help create 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in Haryana. The facility is spread over 85 acres and has a total annual production capacity of 6.27 lakh tonnes.

4,50,000 tonnes of food products will be made

This plant will manufacture 4,50,000 tonnes of food products including rice, wheat flour, semolina, rava and maida. Also, two lakh tonnes of edible oils like mustard oil, rice bran oil and cotton seed oil, besides mustard DOC and ricebran DOC for animal feed will be produced. Last month, business conglomerate Adani Group announced its exit from Adani Wilmar. Adani Wilmar manufactures Fortune brand edible oil, wheat flour and other food products.
