Triveni Turbine gets huge order from NTPC, project will be set up in this state
Triveni Turbine has received an order worth Rs 2.9 billion from power major NTPC. The order is for setting up 160 megawatt hours of CO2 based standalone energy storage system (ESS) at NTPC Kudgi STPP (Super Thermal Power Plant) in Karnataka, Triveni Turbine said in an exchange filing on Wednesday. The project will be executed on a turnkey basis by Triveni Turbine and technology partner Energy Dome over a period of 18 months, PTI reported.
The aim is to accelerate energy transition efforts
According to the news, Triveni Turbine said that it has received an order of Rs 2.9 billion from NTPC. Triveni Turbine Chairman and Managing Director Dhruv M Sahni said that this is a historic order from NTPC, which aims to accelerate India’s energy transition efforts by making renewable energy dispatchable. Our long-term partnership with Energy Dome is aimed at providing sustainable alternative green storage of energy, which also matches well with our energy transition solutions.

NTPC CMD Gurdeep Singh said that the demonstration of the new technology will have many benefits in the field of electrical energy storage, such as a long life of 25 years, there will be no need for critical minerals like lithium, cobalt.
