AIR INDIA will operate more flights on these routes from March 30, but will stop flights between these cities

Tata Group airline Air India will operate more flights on routes to the UK, Europe, Far East Asia and Africa from March 30. Air India’s first old Boeing 787 aircraft will go for retrofit of new seats and entertainment systems in April. The aircraft is expected to be back in the fleet in October this year.

Flights will be effective from March 30 to October 25

According to the news, Air India is already running in loss. The airline has launched an ambitious transformation plan, which has more than 60 wide-body aircraft including Boeing 777 and 787. Air India is going to increase the number of its flights on these routes for the northern summer program effective from March 30 to October 25 this year. “3x weekly flights, increasing from 21x to 24x weekly flights” operated by A350-900 and upgraded B787-9 aircraft will be added on the Delhi-London Heathrow route.

Number of flights will increase on these routes

According to the news, Air India will increase the number of weekly flights from 3 to 4 on Amritsar-Birmingham and Amritsar-London Gatwick routes, while weekly flights on Ahmedabad-London Gatwick route will be increased from 3 to 5. In Europe, the airline will operate five weekly services from the existing four weekly flights from Delhi to Zurich. The Delhi-Hong Kong route will switch from A321 to B787 Dreamliner in 7 weekly flights. The weekly services on the Delhi-Nairobi route will be increased from 3 to 4.

The company will suspend service on this route till further notice

Due to the retrofit program and the resulting temporary reduction in the operational fleet, the airline will suspend its non-stop Mumbai-Melbourne service between March 30 and September 13, 2025 and the non-stop Kochi-London Gatwick route from March 30, 2025 till further notice. According to the airline, the modernisation of its narrowbody aircraft is progressing well and will be completed by mid-2025.
