Alcatel returns to India! Will launch premium smartphone range, devices will be made in India under Make in India

Alcatel, a mobile tech brand operated by TCL Communication under Nokia’s trademark license, has announced its re-entry into the smartphone market in India. The company had not launched any phone or tablet in India since 2018, although it remained active in some other markets until 2022. The company has said that it is going to adopt local manufacturing in India, so that Alcatel can keep itself in line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Alcatel said through a press release that the company plans to provide stylus support in its upcoming smartphones, so that it can bring premium features to more consumers. To strengthen its hold in India, the company is going to adopt local manufacturing. Apart from this, plans to establish a strong service network across the country are also included in the company’s agenda.

Alcatel’s new devices will include patented technology (approved or pending) and designs inspired by French aesthetics, with which it will try to create its own identity. Alcatel’s focus will be on reaching out to general consumers, technology enthusiasts and professional users. The company is aiming to create a distinct identity in the Indian market by combining design, functionality and user experience.

Alcatel’s strategy includes local level manufacturing and giving prominence to a strong customer support system. The brand will use its experience and technical expertise to move forward to regain a strong position in the Indian smartphone market.

Alcatel’s website currently includes several other models including Alcatel 1, Alcatel TKEE Mini and Alcatel 3L (2021). The company has also launched tablets in India.
