The SIM card is issued only after filling the CAF form. To

buy a new SIM, customers have to fill up a Customer Acquisition Form (CAF). It is usually an agreement between the telecom company and the customer. This form has now been amended according to which the age of purchasing the SIM card should not be less than 18 years. Apart from this, if the mental condition of a person is not good, then the SIM card cannot be sold to him also. 

How many SIM cards in one person’s name?

This is a very common question which is asked every time but there is no exact answer. It is generally said that a person can buy a maximum of 9 SIM cards in his name, whereas this is not the case. A person can buy a maximum of 18 SIM cards in his name. Of these, 9 will be used for mobile calls and the other 9 will be used for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication.

Recently, the government has made changes in the rules for taking SIM cards, according to which you will have digital KYC instead of physical to get a SIM card. In this case, customers will not have to submit any kind of documents. Apart from this, no paper will be required to convert postpaid SIM to prepaid. Users will be able to do KYC themselves through the network provider company app and for this only Re 1 will be charged from the customers.
