TikTok and PUBG Mobile got the highest earnings in Q3 2021
TikTok and PUBG Mobile are banned in India, but both these apps are still making records around the world. According to the latest reports, TikTok and PUBG Mobile are the most downloaded and highest grossing applications in the world in the third quarter of 2021.
TikTok and PUBG Mobile become the highest grossers
According to the report, Tiktok was the highest grossing app worldwide. PUBG Mobile secured the top spot in the gaming category. Along with this, both these programs were also the most downloaded apps or games in their respective categories.
The report said that there has been a 41 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase in consumer spending in the TikTok app. It has also included the Chinese version of this app Douyin in TikTok’s earnings. According to the report, in the third quarter, PUBG Mobile saw an 11 percent year-on-year increase in consumer spending. In the case of PUBG too, the report has included its Chinese version Game for Peace.
Q3 2021 report
The latest report on app spend in Q3 2021 shows that total consumer spending on in-app purchases, premium apps and subscriptions on Apple’s App Store and Google Play grew 15.1 percent to $33.6 billion (about Rs 2,49,013 crore). Consumer spend on Google Play Store grew 18.6 percent year-on-year to $12.1 billion (approximately Rs 89,674 crore) and App Store grew by 13.2 percent to $21.5 billion (approximately Rs 1,59,382 crore).
The top 5 highest-grossing apps include – TikTok, Piccoma, YouTube, Google One and Disney+. The top 5 highest-grossing games include PUBG Mobile, Honor of Kings, Genshin Impact, Pokemon Go and Roblox Corp.
