Tata is bringing UPI payment app, payment services like Google Pay and PhonePe will get competition

Tata may soon launch the UPI payment app. The company is going to get clearance for this from the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). As soon as the clearance is received, the company can start its UPI (Unified Payment Interface) service. Tata’s payment service will compete with services like Amazon Pay, PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm.

According to the report of ET, Tata Digital, the digital commerce unit of Tata Group, can launch this service by using ICICI Bank’s infrastructure for this. The executive of the company has disclosed this. However, no timeline has been set for when this payment service of Tata will start.

Many non-banking platforms including PhonePe and Google Pay are providing UPI service in association with the bank. This service of technology companies helps the user in digital payment. In the last few years, many more technology companies have started their payment service in India, including WhatsApp, Jio, Amazon etc.

May be launched in the name of Tata Neu

According to the report, Tata Digital has applied as a third party application provider to NPCI for the UPI service. The name of this payment service of Tata can be Tata Neu. According to the NPCI report, in the month of February in India, 4.52 billion or 452 crore transactions were done through UPI.

Amazon India gives users the option to make payments through Amazon Pay on its e-commerce platform.
