Tata Steel shuts down business with Russia, will not order raw materials; make other arrangements

New Delhi: Private sector company Tata Steel has announced to stop business with Russia. The company has taken this step amid the Russo-Ukraine war. A company spokesperson said in a statement, “Tata Steel does not have any operations in Russia, nor does it have employees there. We have taken the decision to close business with Russia after careful consideration. Let us tell you that Tata Steel imports coal from Russia to make steel.
Tata Steel said in a statement that for business continuity, all steel manufacturing plants of the company in India, UK and Netherlands have arranged for alternate supply of raw materials. This has ended their dependence on Russia. The company has procured limited quantities of coal from Russia for its various operations.
