UP cabinet decisions: Traveling in NCR became cheaper, Yogi government gave big relief to cab and taxi drivers.

New Delhi: There is good news for cabs and taxi drivers in NCR. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has announced to abolish road tax on vehicles going from UP to NCR such as school vans, taxis, cabs and other vehicles. Cab-taxi drivers had to pay additional tax for commuting in NCR. But now after the agreement with other states connected with NCR, this road tax will not have to be paid. Consumers taking cab-taxi services will also get the benefit of this. This will benefit the people and will get rid of traffic jams. However, due to this, UP will suffer a loss of crores of rupees annually.

Cabs and taxi drivers will have to pay the same tax which will be collected initially. Thereafter no tax will be payable. Apart from this, school buses-carts, hospital vehicles, roadways buses will also get tax relief. Now they will have to pay the same tax in 4 states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi. This step has been taken for the benefit of the public and traffic jams. Till now each state had to pay a separate tax. Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that due to this, UP will suffer a loss of 12 crores annually.
