EESL to make health department buildings energy efficient in. Ladakh.
New Delhi, Sep 7 (PTI) Energy Efficiency Services Ltd., under the Ministry of Power. (EESL) has entered into an agreement with the Union Territory of Ladakh for the use of renewable energy and energy efficient technology in buildings under the health department.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two sides will enter into an alliance to work together for the use of energy efficient technology in the buildings of the Health Department under the Ladakh administration and in other areas on the basis of mutual consent.
EESL said in a statement that the idea behind this is to make buildings and medical institutions a net zero carbon emission zone.
Arun Kumar Mishra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), EESL said, “Ladakh is one of the beautiful areas of nature and it is important to preserve its ecology and environment. The use of energy efficiency technologies in buildings… can prove to be a very important step in terms of environmental protection.”
The MoU was signed by Iftikhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Additional Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Ladakh and Animesh Mishra, Head (Sales and Public Relations) of EESL.
Both sides will provide training and facilitate capacity building for stakeholders on energy efficiency technologies and programmes.
In addition, EESL will assist in the construction and implementation of projects on a pilot basis for geothermal energy and renewable energy powered ‘hit pump’ technology.
