Sensex breaks 34 points, slight gain in Nifty; Know the condition of rupee against gold-silver and dollar.

The stock market opened with a red mark on the first trading day of the week i.e. Monday. Talking about 10 o’clock in the morning, the Sensex was down by 300 points at 62520.21, while the Nifty was also at 18595.85 after falling by almost 100 points. After this, the BSE Sensex fell 33.9 points to 62,834.60 and the NSE Nifty closed at 18,701.05 points with a slight gain of 4.95 points. The rupee declined by 47 paise to close at 81.80 (provisional) against the US dollar.
According to news agency PTI, the 30-share Sensex closed at 62,834.60 points, down 33.9 points, or 0.05 per cent, in volatile trade. At one point during the trading, it had gone down to 360.62 points. However, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 18,701.05 points with a slight gain of 4.95 points, or 0.03 percent.
Reliance Industries, Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Dr Reddy’s, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finserv and Mahindra & Mahindra were major losers in the Sensex pack. Whereas, Tata Steel, NTPC, State Bank of India, IndusInd Bank and PowerGrid gained.
Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude rose by 1.73 per cent to trade at $87.05 per barrel. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 214.76 crore on Friday, according to stock market data.
