Campa Cola: After 50 years, this indigenous brand will make a comeback, Reliance Group re-launched it.
Mumbai: Do you know the indigenous brand Campa in the cola segment? It is India’s own brand in the sparkling beverage category. Remained dead for all these years. Now it has been taken over by Mukesh Ambani’s company Lions. Reliance has once again announced the launch of Campa in the Indian market. Under this, three drinks have been launched.
Three flavors in the Campa portfolio
According to a statement issued from Reliance Group, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), has announced the relaunch of Campa. Initially, Campa Cola, Campa Lemon and Campa Orange are launched under the Campa portfolio. The launch of this brand is in line with the strategy of promoting domestic Indian brands.
New enthusiasm in the beverage segment
Speaking on the launch, RCPL spokesperson said, “By introducing Campa in its new avatar, we hope to inspire generations of consumers to adopt this iconic brand and create a new wave of excitement in the beverage segment . While older members of the family will have fond memories of the original Campa and cherish the nostalgia associated with the brand, younger consumers will love the crisp fresh taste. With the rapidly evolving Indian market opening up to more consumption opportunities, we are really excited to bring back Campa, another bold step in expanding our FMCG business.
Campa in a pack of five sizes
Five pack sizes have been revealed under the Campa range of “The Great Indian Taste”. The first size is the immediate consumption pack, which will hold 200 ml of cola. The second is an on-the-go sharing pack of 500ml and 600ml. Apart from these, home packs of one liter and two liters have also been launched. With this launch, RCPL further strengthens its FMCG portfolio. These include the heritage brand Sosyo Hajoori, Lotus Chocolates in the confectionery range, Maliban, Sri Lanka’s leading biscuit brand Maliban as well as daily use essentials under its own brands including Independence and Good Life.
The magic of Campa used to work in Delhi
For about 15 years after 1977, Campa Cola was the most preferred cold drink of people in Delhi and surrounding areas. This was the time when his fame was immense. At that time it had around 50 bottling plants across the country. Among them, the factory at Connaught Place in Delhi was the oldest and famous. The company’s Motinagar factory in Delhi itself was the biggest. The company had two more bottling plants in Delhi. One in Najafgarh and the other in Okhla. All this gradually stopped. Now Reliance has bought Campa.
