Made in India: Tata Group starts production of iPhone in Bengaluru, will acquire Wistron’s factory.

The Tata Group has started manufacturing Apple’s iPhone at an ambitious production hub in India. According to a TOI report, the Tata group is planning to acquire Taiwanese company Wistron’s Narsapura factory in Bengaluru to produce iPhones in India. Last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook had a long meeting with Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran in Mumbai.

Tata Group’s mega electronics manufacturing plans were discussed in the meeting and short and long-term partnership with Apple was also discussed, although there is still some uncertainty as to whether Wistron will be able to complete the manufacturing from its Bengaluru plant. Will it come out or not.

According to sources, Wistron now wants to completely end its partnership with Apple in India and focus on other business. It is being said that Wistron will not work with Apple in India, but with some other company. Sources also say that some Tata Group executives are already working at the Wistron plant.

It is being said that the Tata group is planning to manufacture some models of the upcoming iPhone 15 series in India. The iPhone 15 is expected to be launched in September this year, out of which the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus can be made in India.

Let us tell you that just a few days ago, Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn has bought a large piece of land on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Major Apple supplier Foxconn has said in its filing that it is focusing its production outside China. For your information, let us tell you that Foxconn is the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and it is also a major assembler of Apple iPhones.

In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, the company said it has acquired 1.2 million square meters (13 million square feet) of land in Devanahalli, near the Bangalore airport. An amount of 37 million dollars i.e. about 303 crore 73 lakh 63 thousand 300 rupees has been paid for this land.
