States and Center should prepare a common vision to make India a developed country by 2047: PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a common vision to make India a developed country by 2047. He asked the states to take steps in this direction. Modi said this while addressing the eighth meeting of the Governing Council (GCM) of NITI Aayog. During this, Chief Ministers of many states, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories and Union Ministers were present. He asked the states to take economically prudent decisions to prepare programs that fulfill the dreams of the citizens.


‘When States Grow, India Grows’


NITI Aayog wrote on Twitter, “In the eighth meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that when states grow, India grows. He stressed on the importance of developing a shared vision to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047.” In another tweet, the commission said, “PM Narendra Modi urged states to take fiscally prudent decisions, So that they become financially strong and run programs that fulfill the dreams of the citizens. The eighth meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council deliberated on several issues including health, skill development, women empowerment and infrastructure development to make India a developed country by 2047.

The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Modi. The meeting was attended by Union ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal as well as chief ministers of several states including Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. The chief ministers of West Bengal, Punjab and Delhi boycotted the meeting. Plenary meeting of the Council is held every year. Last year, this meeting was held on August 7 under the chairmanship of Modi. The first meeting of the council was held on February 8, 2015. The meeting was not called in 2020 due to the Corona virus pandemic.
