Kerala: CM Vijayan inaugurated Infinity Center in Dubai, said – youth are becoming givers instead of doing jobs.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday inaugurated the first ‘Infinity Centre’ of the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in Dubai. Addressing the inaugural session, he said that the startup culture in Kerala is changing the outlook of the youth of the state. Instead of doing jobs, youth want to be job creators. This will not only strengthen the ecosystem of budding startups but will also help generate over 20,000 jobs in the current financial year.
A release issued by KSUM said that this program will launch centers providing platforms for Kerala startups in the overseas market and help NRIs to become entrepreneurs by joining KSUM. The idea for the Infinity Center came about in the context of the 32 million NRIs, who represent the largest population of overseas citizens.
Startups will be helped in collaboration with the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), he said at the event. More such facilities will be set up in the United States, Australia and Europe during the first phase. The Chief Minister said that the attitude of the youth is changing with the startup culture in Kerala and the IT department of the government is also making the new generation aware about it.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan further said that his government would start two more IT parks in Kerala. Pinarayi said an IT corridor would be opened connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Kollam, Ernakulam to Alappuzha and Koratti and Kozhikode to Kannur. The process of land acquisition is going on for this. Explain that there are three major IT parks in Kerala, namely Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, Infopark in Kochi and Cyberpark in Kozhikode.
He further added that Infinity Center aims to be a one-stop destination for NRIs to expose themselves to entrepreneurship support through Kerala-based startups and various collaboration opportunities with KSUM.
