5 airports will be withdrawn from Anil Ambani’s company: Maharashtra government bid – company not paying and maintaining.
The Maharashtra government is preparing to take back 5 airports from Anil Ambani, who is facing financial crisis. State Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly that the government may soon take back Latur, Osmanabad, Nanded, Yavatmal and Baramati airports from the Anil Ambani group.
In fact, in the year 2008-2009, the government entrusted the maintenance of the airport to Anil Ambani’s Reliance Airport Developers Limited. Now Ambani’s company is neither maintaining the airport nor paying the dues.
Reliance Airport Developers Limited had made the highest bid of Rs 63 crore for all these five airports.
Maharashtra government will take legal opinion from Attorney-General
Fadnavis said that the government would seek legal opinion from the Attorney-General on how to recover the dues from Reliance Airport Developers Limited. Also, can the government take full control of the airport instead?
Nanded, Latur airport work stalled
After speaking in the assembly, Fadnavis tweeted, ‘The work of Nanded, Latur airport has stopped. The company to whom the work was given has not paid the dues. AG (Attorney-General) opinion will be taken and we will expedite this work. Along with this, he had given information about other projects related to the airport in that tweet.
