New Delhi: Now the days of freebies are about to start on the social media platform X i.e. Twitter. Company owner Elon Musk has indicated that all users will have to pay to use this platform. According to a BBC report, Musk said in a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the only way to counter bots is the payment system. He said that the company is making a system under which a small payment will have to be made every month to use this platform. SpaceX and Tesla boss Musk bought Twitter last year. Since then he has made many changes in it.

Musk has said many times that the solution to getting rid of bots and fake accounts on X is to charge for verification. The platform has started X Premium service for this. In this, more facilities have been given to the paying users. They can write longer posts and their visibility on the platform has also been increased. However, till now users have been allowed to use X for free. The company is now preparing to take money from users. However, Musk says that the purpose behind this is to handle bots.

X premium service

Currently in America one has to pay eight dollars every month for X premium. This fee varies from country to country. Musk says that she is considering bringing a cheaper option for users. He said, ‘We are coming with lower tier pricing. For this you will have to pay a nominal price. This was being discussed for a long time but I think this is a defense against the army of bots.

However, by making payment mandatory for all users, there is a fear of the company losing users. This may also affect the company’s ad revenue. It accounts for a major share in the company’s income.
