Air India: Air India’s A350-900 aircraft took its first flight from Singapore to France, now preparations to bring it to India
Air India said on Friday that its first A350-900 aircraft has taken the first flight from Singapore to France. The airline shared the first picture of the plane on social media on Friday. According to a senior Air India official, the aircraft was painted in Singapore. It has been sent to Toulouse for some necessary procedures before bringing it to India in December.
Tata-owned Air India has outlined expansion plans, with an order for 40 Airbus A350 aircraft in the coming years. The first A350-900 is to arrive in India in December 2023. After this, 5 aircraft will join the fleet by March 2024. Air India has not yet decided the route of the aircraft. According to an official, the aircraft will initially be deployed on domestic routes.
Air India has also confirmed the order of 250 Airbus and 220 Boeing aircraft worth about $ 700 crore. Since coming under Tata ownership, Air India has aimed for rapid expansion. For this, during the Paris Air Show in June this year, an agreement was signed with Airbus and Boeing on the purchase of these aircraft. The Airbus A350-900 offers economy, spaciousness and flexibility to adapt to the needs of customers. Apart from this it is suitable for both short and long flights.
