TCS will teach AI skills to employees, 5 lakh people will get training, 1.50 lakh will be trained in 7 months

New Delhi. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country’s largest software exporter, will train its workforce of more than five lakh software engineers for upcoming opportunities in Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI). A senior officer gave this information.

Shiva Ganesan, head of the company’s recently formed ‘AI.Cloud’ unit, told PTI that generative AI as a business opportunity is still in its “nascent stage” and its use is still low. Is. He told that the company is using the information obtained from Gen AI to speed up the ongoing work for customers.

The company had also announced its involvement in 250 generative AI driven projects a few months ago. Ganesan said, “It is probably being used less now.” This is the period before big changes. We also talk about complementary assets and growth. Is there any timeline for this, I guess let’s just wait and see. Its true results will emerge in the coming quarters.

He said, “The workforce is being prepared. In the times to come, the entire organization itself will be ready for (Gen) AI.” Asked about the timeline for training employees with Gen AI skills, Ganesan did not give a clear answer, although he said that given the current progress, it would be around that time. More than 1.50 lakh employees will be trained in seven months.
