Baba Ramdev’s company stopped the sale of 14 products, see the complete list here
New Delhi: Baba Ramdev’s company Patanjali Ayurved Ltd has stopped the sale of 14 products. The company told the Supreme Court on Tuesday that it has stopped the sale of 14 products whose manufacturing licenses were suspended by the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority in April. The company said that it has issued instructions to 5,606 franchise stores to take back these products. It said media platforms have also been directed to withdraw advertisements of these 14 products in any form.
The bench has directed Patanjali Ayurved Limited to file an affidavit within two weeks. In this, the company will have to tell whether the request made to the social media intermediary to remove the advertisements has been accepted and whether the advertisements of these 14 products have been withdrawn. The bench fixed the next hearing of the case on July 30. The Supreme Court is hearing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). In this, Patanjali has been accused of defaming the Covid vaccination campaign and modern medical practice.
License suspended
The Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority had told the Supreme Court that the manufacturing licenses of 14 products of Patanjali Ayurved and Divya Pharmacy have been suspended with immediate effect. The Supreme Court had on May 14 reserved its order on the contempt notice issued to yoga guru Ramdev, his associate Balkrishna and Patanjali Ayurveda in the misleading advertisement case.
