Apple CEO Tim Cook has high hopes from India, the company will open four new retail stores

Tim Cook, CEO of American devices maker Apple, has emphasized the growing importance of India. The company’s sales in the quarter ended in September have been better than expected. Apple’s sales in the last quarter were around $94.9 billion. This is an increase of 6.1 percent compared to the same quarter last year. Cook said that Apple has set a revenue record in India in the September quarter. He said that the company is preparing to open four new stores in the country. The recently launched Apple iPhone 16 series is getting a good response from the customers. Cook said that sales of iPads have also increased. Sales of these tablets of the company have increased in double-digits. Usually, the demand for smartphones and other tech devices increases at the beginning of the festive season in September. Last year, Apple’s stores opened in Select Citywalk in Saket, Delhi and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai are performing well. The company is preparing to open new stores in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune.

Recently, Apple has listed several jobs on its website in the country. These include full-time and part-time jobs. The company is expected to hire about 400 employees. The revenue of Apple stores in the country in the first year of sales has been around Rs 800 crore. In this, the share of Saket store in Delhi is 60 percent. In the last few years, Apple has also taken steps to shift some part of its manufacturing to China. The company has partnered with contract manufacturers like Foxconn and Wistron to manufacture iPhones in India. The Pro models of the iPhone 16 series are also being manufactured in the country.

Earlier this week, the company introduced its MacBook Pro range with the new M4 chip. This 3nm processor was first used in the iPad Pro earlier this year. After this, it was also in the recently introduced iMac 24 inch and the new Mac mini. The new MacBook Pro models have M4, M4 Pro and M4 chips. These laptops are available with 14 inch and 16 inch displays. They also have support for Apple Intelligence features recently introduced for US users.
