Adani Group will set up this plant by investing 20,000 crores in Bihar, so many thousand new employment opportunities will be created
Adani Group has made a big announcement for Bihar. At the global investor conference ‘Bihar Business Connect’ 2024, Adani Group led by industrialist Gautam Adani announced to set up a state-of-the-art power plant in Bihar with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. Apart from this, the group is also expanding its cement, food processing and logistics business in the state. Addressing the global investor conference ‘Bihar Business Connect’ 2024, Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprises Ltd. said that the group has already invested about Rs 850 crore in three sectors logistics, gas distribution and agricultural logistics in Bihar. We are now going to invest another Rs 2,300 crore in these areas. This investment will increase our warehousing and maintenance capacity and expand our presence in electric vehicles, city gas distribution (CGD) and compressed biogas (CBG) sector.
27,000 new employment opportunities will be created
Pranav Adani said that the new investment by the group will create 27,000 additional direct and indirect local employment opportunities in the state. Adani Group is also planning to invest about Rs 1,000 crore in the development of strategic infrastructure like Gati Shakti Railway Terminal, ICD (Inland Container Depot) and Industrial Warehousing Park in Bihar. He said that apart from this we are investing in smart meter manufacturing. Bihar is moving from traditional electricity meters to smart meters, that is why we will invest Rs 2,100 crore in the manufacturing and installation of more than 28 lakh smart meters for automatic monitoring of electricity consumption in five cities Siwan, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Saran and Samastipur. This will create at least 4,000 local jobs in this area.
Preparations to expand cement business
He also said that the cement business in the state will be expanded to 10 million tonnes per annum capacity by investing Rs 2,500 crore in factories in various phases. Adani said that we are also looking for investment opportunities in the energy sector of Bihar. We plan to invest about Rs 20,000 crore to set up a state-of-the-art power plant (ultra-supercritical thermal power plant). He said that we hope that this project will create at least 12,000 jobs during the implementation phase and about 1,500 skilled jobs during the operational phase.
