This also benefits the economy there. According to a report, in the academic year 2019-20, Indian students contributed a total of $7.6 billion (Rs 55 thousand crore) to the US economy. However, the total number of students was down 4.4 percent over the previous year.

In 2019-20, a total of 3 lakh 72 thousand Chinese students arrived in the US. This claim is made in the Opens Doors 2020 report. India ranks second in terms of number of students. In 2019-20, a total of 1 lakh 93 thousand 124 students from India reached for studying in America.
More than 1 million students arrived
The US Department of Commerce and International Students says that in 2019-20 there were a total of 10 lakh 75 thousand 496 international students in the US. International students contributed a total of $44 billion to the US economy.
