Bank employees’ organizations have announced that farmers are not involved in ‘Bharat Bandh’. However, they have supported the ongoing peasant movement against the new agricultural laws.

All banks will be open

After the announcement by the bank organizations, it has become clear that despite the Bharat Bandh, all the banks will remain open today. Earlier on 26 November, India was closed by 10 trade unions. 25 crore workers of the country participated in that bandh. The Bharat Bandh was also supported by bank organizations, due to which the functioning was seen to be affected. However, today the functioning of banks will continue smoothly. Due to the bandh you may face difficulties in reaching the bank.

Support movement

For more than a week, the farmers who have been standing on the border of Delhi have called for a Bharat Bandh on Tuesday. All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) general secretary, Soumya Dutta said that the organization supports the farmers’ movement but will not join their bandh.

Bank employees will not go on strike

Similarly, All India Bank Employees Union (AIBEA) General Secretary, CH Venkatachalam said that the organization will not go on strike but it supports the farmers’ protest. He said that his members would tie black bands to work on Tuesday to support the farmers. At the same time, before and after the start of work in banks, they will also perform placards in support of farmers.

Mass support

The Bharat Bandh organized by the farmers has received widespread support. 10 trade unions have supported the bandh. The Truck Operators Union, Taxi-Bus Union has also supported the Bharat Bandh. The truck union even went so far as to say that if the demands of the farmers are not met, then it will start the Chakka Jam from 8 December.
