Electricity consumption grew by 3.7 percent to 97.43 billion units in November as compared to 93.94 billion units in the same month a year ago. Experts said consumption figures for the first fortnight of this month suggest that commercial and industrial demand is steadily improving following the ‘lockdown’ relaxation.

Power consumption increased by 4.8 percent to 50.36 billion units in the first fortnight of December. It explains continuity in economic activity. According to the data of the Ministry of Power, the power consumption during the period from 1 to 15 December last year was 48.04 billion units. In the year 2019, electricity consumption in the entire December month was 101.08 billion units.
