Maruti starts export of Jimny, know where the first shipment was sent
The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki Limited has started exporting Suzuki’s compact loader Jimny. Its first consignment with 184 units was sent from Mundra Port in Gujarat to Latin American countries like Colombia and Peru. The company says that the three-door Suzuki Jimny will be exported to Latin America, Middle East and African markets.
Known as the Authentic of Loader, Jimny can easily do its job in any terrain. This is the reason why it has its own distinct identity worldwide. Suzuki Motor Corporation launched the current Jimny model in Japan in 2018 and has become popular worldwide. People also like to run it in cities. Jimny was awarded the prestigious World Urban Car Award in 2019.
Production in India
Suzuki is producing it in India. The reason for this is that the company wants to take advantage of the credibility of Maruti Suzuki. It is in great demand worldwide and Suzuki’s capacity in Japan cannot meet it. This is the reason why the company is making it in India to meet the global demand.
Speaking on the occasion, Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said that Jimny will fulfill the aspirations of customers all over the world. The Jimny, built at the Maruti Suzuki plant in Gurugram, has the same characteristics as the units at Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan. We expect our total exports to increase with the arrival of Jimny. Jimny has a length of 3655mm, width 164mm and height 1720mm. Its transmission is 5MT/4AT and the engine is 1.5 liters of petrol.
