Chinese company to build metro coach in India, will also be exported to West Asia and Africa
Despite the anti-China sentiment, Chinese companies continue to do business in the country. Now CRRC Nanjing Zhen Metro Coach Manufacturing Plant of China’s Rolling Stock and Component Group is going to be set up. The foundation stone of this plant has also been done.
Construction is being done in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh
According to the information, this metro coach manufacturing plant is being constructed at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Initially, an investment of about Rs 350 crore will be made on its construction. The plant is being constructed on about 45.3 acres of land, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The construction of this plant is expected to provide employment to 500 people.
Order received for making 216 coaches for Bengaluru Metro
The plant will have coaches for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL), Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and Chennai Metro Rail Corporation (CMRCL). The company has also received orders to build 216 metro coaches for the Bangalore Metro.
75% will be local manufacturing
75% of metro coaches will be manufactured locally, while more than 50% of local goods will be used. CRRC India says that local manufacturing of coaches will be taken up to 90% in future. In the future CRRC will also export coaches to West Asia and African countries.

Speaking on the construction of the plant at Sri City, CRRC India chairman Zeng Yao Zheng said that it is one of the best industrial hubs in India. CRRC is the 13th company to invest in Sri City
CRRC’s Founder MD Ravindra Sannireddy says that the second groundbreaking ceremony of the plant will be held in the new year. He said that CRRC is the 13th Chinese company to invest in Sri City. CRRC’s manufacturing plants in many countries
CRRC Nanjing Zhen is the world’s largest supplier of rail transit equipment. Apart from China, CRRC also has metro coach manufacturing plants in the US, Argentina, Malaysia and the UK. India will also be included in the company’s manufacturing map with the construction of the plant at Sri City.
