New Delhi May 6 (Language) Honda Cars India on Thursday said that the Corona infection in the country In view of the outbreak of the second wave, it has decided to shut down the Rajasthan-based production plant for about ten days. The Japanese automobile manufacturer is currently selling cars like Amaze and Honda City in the country. It has decided to keep the plant at Tapukara closed for seven days from May 7 in view of increasing cases of corona infection. A Honda Cars India spokesperson told PTI, “In view of the horrific second wave of Corona infection, the company has informed its partners and suppliers that the production plant and maintenance block at Tapukara in Rajasthan will be open from May 7 to 18. Will be closed “Production will be resumed on May 19,” the spokesperson said. The maintenance block will be closed until mid-May. ” Honda’s Tapukara production plant has a production capacity of 1.8 lakh units per year. Earlier, Mahindra & Mahindra also announced closure of its automotive division production plant due to increasing cases of Corona infection. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, MG Motor India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) and Suzuki Motorcycle India have already announced temporary suspension of their production operations in view of the increase in Corona infection cases. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, 4,12,262 new cases of infections have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours and 3,980 people have lost their lives due to the epidemic. The total infection cases in the country rose to 2,10,77,410 and the number of deaths reached 2,30,168.
