100 employees of iPhone making company in India infected with Corona, production reduced to half
In India, the production of American company Apple’s iPhone 12 has been halved. Taiwan-based company Foxconn manufactures iPhones in India. Its factory is in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. But the functioning of the company has been badly affected due to the corona being hit by more than 100 employees of the company. The company’s factory is now producing 50 percent.
iPhones are made exclusively for India at the Foxconn factory in the country. India is the second-largest smartphone market in the world. Presently, the second wave of Corona is going on in the country and Tamil Nadu is among the most affected states. The state has been under full lockdown since Monday. Public transport has been closed and shops are also completely closed.
More than 100 employees engulfed by Corona
More than 100 Foxconn employees in the state have been found to be Corona positive. The company has banned the arrival of employees at its factory in Chennai. A source said that the employees are being allowed to leave the factory but the entry has been closed since yesterday. The capacity of the plant has been halved. However, the sources did not say how much the capacity of the factory is. Also, it is not clear how many employees are left in the facility. There is also a facility for employees to stay in the factory.
