Microsoft Internet Explorer retiring now, Microsoft Edge will replace it

Children of the 90s have had a love-hate relationship with Microsoft Internet Explorer. In the era of slow internet speed, this browser running at a slower speed is now going to depart. Microsoft has announced that the support of the Internet Explorer web browser on Windows 10 will be discontinued from June 15, 2022. Even before the retirement date of Internet Explorer came, Microsoft had announced to end support of this browser from its 365 online service.

Microsoft Edge will replace Internet Explorer

Microsoft launched Internet Explorer in August 1995. It has completed 25 years. But many years ago, Internet Explorer has been out of the race for an internet browser. Microsoft itself has replaced it a long time ago. Instead, Microsoft Edge, a modern and stylish browser built on chromium project, is working.

However, there are still many legacy websites that open in Internet Explorer. Microsoft has given the responsibility of this work to Edge, which has an Internet Explorer mode or IE mode to open these websites. While giving news of Internet Explorer farewell, Microsoft also explained how Microsoft Edge is a better option. According to the company, the Edge browser has better compatibility.

Microsoft said, ‘In this (Edge) you get the advantage of the dual engine, which supports both legacy and modern websites.’ Microsoft also has a lot to say about the security of the Edge browser. The company wrote, ‘There are about 579 password attacks every second. You need a browser that can withstand this challenge. Microsoft Edge with Microsoft Defender SmartScreen on Windows 10 gives the highest-rated protection against phishing attacks and malware.’
